About Ms. Rachael
Hi, I’m Rachael, and I’m so glad you’re here!
I’m a California credentialed teacher with a master’s degree in early childhood and special education, and I’ve spent more than 25 years helping children and families feel more confident, capable, and supported. I hold a California Education Specialist Instruction Credential and specialize in working with students from birth through 12th grade, with a primary focus on early childhood through 5th grade.
I support a wide range of learners, including children and students with high IQs, ADHD, autism, specific learning disabilities such as dyslexia, auditory and visual processing challenges, intellectual disabilities, and other health impairments. While I am not a dyslexia specialist, I have extensive experience supporting students with dyslexia using structured, individualized approaches.
I also work with infants and toddlers through San Diego Regional Center (SDRC) as well as private pay, providing early developmental support using a play-based, relationship-centered approach. These early years are so important, and I love helping families build strong foundations right from the start.
My approach is warm, supportive, and highly personalized. I meet each child exactly where they are, then gently guide them forward in a way that builds both skills and confidence. Sessions are designed to feel positive and engaging, so students not only make progress, but also begin to enjoy learning again.
While my specialty is in building strong foundations in reading, writing, and math through elementary school, I also support middle school and high school students. For subjects beyond elementary level, I focus on helping students understand and work through the material provided by their teacher, using their notes, assignments, and classwork to strengthen comprehension and confidence.
I also partner closely with parents, helping them understand how to advocate for their child within the school system. This includes identifying helpful accommodations, preparing for school meetings, and making sure support plans are being followed in a meaningful way.
Before starting my business, I spent 8 years teaching in public schools, working with students across a range of abilities and learning styles. That experience, combined with my background in child development, allows me to understand not just what a child is struggling with, but why, and how to help in a way that truly sticks.
Families often tell me that their children don’t just improve academically, they start to believe in themselves again. That shift in confidence is one of the most meaningful parts of my work.
As a local mom of elementary-aged kids, I understand how important it is to find someone you trust. When you work with me, you know exactly who your child is learning with, and that they are being supported by someone who genuinely cares.
When I’m not working with families, you’ll usually find me spending time with my kids and husband (an amazing pediatric OT), at the beach, reading, or enjoying games and sports!
Whether your child needs help catching up, staying focused, or simply feeling more confident, I’m here to help make learning feel easier, calmer, and more successful.

Early Intervention Support (Birth to 3)
